Our Coaches
John Dinorcia
John Dinorcia is the Coaching and Program director for the NJ Devils Youth Hockey Club. John spends on-ice time with each team throughout the season in addition to performing game evaluations. John is a member of the Atlantic District Player Development Coaching Staff, where he has coached at several different levels and won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Junior Olympic Festivals. John was the Head Coach of the Atlantic District North New Jersey Devil team that won the 2002 International Peewee Quebec Tournament and the 2003 team which advanced to the Quarterfinals . He also led our 1998 – 1999 Tier I Bantam Team to a Silver Medal at the USA Hockey National Championships, our 2000 – 2001 Tier I Bantams to a National Championship, and our 2002 – 2003 Tier I Bantams to a Bronze medal.For the past five years John has been the Coach-in-Chief of the Atlantic District where he oversees the Coaching Education Program. This is a position appointed by USA Hockey. John was the first recipient of the Atlantic District Coach of the Year awarded in 2003.
Adam Diglio
Adam has been coaching with Devils Youth since 1988. Prior to coaching Adam played Division 1 college hockey at Canisius College in Buffalo NY, First Division Pro in Italy and Minor Pro in Cincinnati for the Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League. As a coach, Adam won a Bronze medal at the 1989 USA Hockey Bantam National Championships, a Silver medal at the 1999 USA Hockey Bantam National Championships and a Bronze Medal at the 2002 USA Hockey Midget Major National Championships. Adam is also the club’s Associate Coaching & Program Director.Steve Riley
Steve Riley has been with the NJ Devils for the past seven seasons. Steve played youth hockey in both Boston and Buffalo before moving to Valley Forge where he played for the Colonials for 4 years. Steve attended and played at Trinity Pawling for 3 years before going to Arizona where he attended the University of Arizona and also played pro-inline hockey. As a coach, not only does his duties include various levels of travel teams, but Steve also is critical in assisting our club wide goaltenders improve their game. Steve has also works with the USA Hockey Select Program and the Atlantic District Quebec Team staff.Tom Fogu
Tom Fogu returns to our staff as the NJ Devils Youth Goalie Coach. Tom Fogu played goalie for and is a graduate of Bayonne High School. He also played goalie at New Hampshire College from 1993-95 before attending Western New England College from 1995-97. Tom was the Director of Goaltending for the prestigious Huron Hockey School. He has taught at hockey schools in Canada, Australia, and throughout the United States. Tom gained valuable coaching experience at the University of Maine under the guidance of the late Shawn Walsh and has worked locally with Give 'em Nothing School for Goaltenders and Great Saves Goaltending
Jim Elia
Coaching the PeeWee Major AAA team this year is Jim Elia. Jim played his high school hockey at Trinity-Pawlingand collegiate hockey for Lake Forest University. Jim has had much success with the Devils, having coached the Bantam team to the USA Hockey National Championships in 1998 and 2007 and coaching the Peewee AAA team to a first place finish in the 2002 USA Hockey National Championship. In addition, Jim’s peewee major team won the 2002 Silver Stick Regional and International Championships, the Atlantic District and League Tournament Championships. Jim coached the Atlantic District North 2002 New Jersey Devil Quebec Team to a First Place finish in the Quebec International Peewee Championships and to a quarterfinal appearance in 2003. He coached his Peewee Minor team to a District Championship last season.Chad Dlugolecki
Chad is entering his eighth season with Devils Youth Hockey. Chad has coached our Tier I Midget teams to five District titles and Silver and Bronze medals at the USA Hockey Nationals. Chad has coached several teams for the Atlantic District Festival program from select 17 team to the select 13 team(Chad won gold with the 89 select 13 team in Ohio). Chad played for the Devils Junior team under Jim Hunt before going on to play for the USA Hockey Player Development Program. Chad also had success as a player for Avon Old Farms Prep School, the Boston Jr. Bruins, and minor professional hockey with the Muskegon Fury of the United Hockey League.Tom Van Doren
Tom has been coaching youth hockey for over 12 years, the last six of which he has spent on the staff of the Devils Youth organization. Tom grew up playing travel hockey for the NJ Rockets out of Totowa, NJ. Prior to Devils Youth, Tom was varsity high school coach at Madison. One of our most popular and versatile coaches, Tom places a strong emphasis on teaching the fundamentals of ice hockey and is extremely effective at helping players to improve their skills. Tom has coached at all levels within our organization with distinction.Billy Graul
Billy Graul is a member of the Devils Youth Goaltending Instruction Staff, and is also an alumnus of the NJ Devils Youth Hockey where he played for his entire youth hockey career. After attending and graduating from Seton Hall Prepatory School, Billy chose to come back to the Devils Youth in the capacity of coach and goalie instructor. He attends most levels with his instruction, and especially enjoys working with the youngest of our goalies at the Mite level.
